That's because only the signed in user or an admin can use that computer. Even if you bypass the security of a screensaver password, you still won't be able to use the computer unless you
A. are the user and know your login/password
B. are an administrator and know your login/password
neither of which you seem to be, per your question here.
Call your I.T. folks for more clarification.

You didn't say if it is a laptop or desktop computer. I f it is a desktop, just remove the side cover and pop out the cmos battery. It is about the size of a nickel. Leave out for a few minutes and replace. This will reset all passwords and you will have to reset the time and date. I hope this helps!

This is a windows feature and you can unlock the system with the password of the last person who logged on. This is merely a Password Protected Screen Saver.

Click CTL + ALT + DEL to get to the log in area, and you will see the name of the person who is currently logged in. Enter their password and the system will unlock.
