I may be wrong here, but when a designer makes a new outfit, it comes as one size and if all the models are that same size, then there's not an issue with sizing it before a show.
Why women want to be a size 4 or less? Don't know. Hollywood seems to be about everyone looking and dressing the same with the same shoes and accessories. Nothing original about copying some one else.

I posted a question concerning this the other day. I don't understand it either. I lost 35 pound due to medication after losing 30 on my own. Now, I weigh 110. I have never been that skinny. I spent 17 years weighing from 165 to 180.
I do love having a 26-inch after having had a 40-inch one, but my goal was ot retreive the 130-pound frame that I had when I finished high school in '87.
Why can't the models be 6"0 at 150 or so?

Well it's what most men want & of course it is a man's world. Most women have plastic surgery, starve themselves & try to look beautiful not for themselves but to attract or keep a man. Therefore, the lie is maintained throughout recent history that you have to be skinny & pretty to get or keep your man. Sad but true. It doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon all you have to do is look at magazine covers, movies or tv to see that. Hell even Ugly Betty (America Ferrara) has lost weight & tried to look prettier & she plays "ugly" on tv. What a weird world we live in. Pressure! Pressure!

a lot of different things in the media, job competition, and what is in, etc can make a woman lose alot of weight.. not to mention the old fable that the clothes hang better off of skinny models. And to some no matter how skinny you may be it just isn't good enough in their mind.

I dont understand the obsession of it all and it's quite distracting, if I see a super thin model/actress Im just gonna think, "am I fat, am I fat" throughout the show...
But anyway it's been ages since I've watched TV, rather be here!

That is because producers, agents, directors, owners .. they all look and hire skinny women. I am sure that all types of women try to get acting and modeling jobs. but unfortunately most of them dont get them jobs. those models and actresses have a lot of stress.. they know that if they get "fat" they will be fired. So they may do almost anything to stay thin... personal trainers, krazy diets, use illegal drugs, surgery, starve them selves.

I ask myself this question everyday. I never hope to aspire looking like any of them because they simply don't look healthy. I understand most of them smoke like chimneys as I am sure that is one of the ways for them to cure their desire to eat. How healthy is that? I feel sorry for them...but society is to blame for this. It is acceptable behavior and society tends to "look up" to these role models. Eventually, after some time and their health starts failing, we'll see that it's not so nice afterall...just as bad as being grossly overweight. Oh yes, another alternative they use is alcohol and drugs....(ie: Lindsey Lohan - now is trying to battle her alcohol addiction and she's not even 21!) Sad, very sad.

Apparently, that's what the men like. I think the super models are too skinny and don't look healthy.

Apparently it is the "in" hollywood thing. It's gross and it's causing a lot of eating disorders in young girls. But I guess the camera does still add 10 lbs, but they look like they've never eaten in their lives!!!
