Lots of people say christians are hypocrites. Maybe, sometimes, but I think of christians as being like sick people trying to get well. If an ill or injured person looks & says, "Hey, you're looking a little ill, yourself, and you feel like you've got a fever," don't you think that could be more like caring about you ... or for others ?
My personal experience is that, the more I try to really get close to God, the more I see my faults --- perhaps even ones I've never noticed before. There will probably always be religious people, but real christians are usually pretty caring, although that doesn't mean they want wrong behavior to ruin our nation. They know that God has, & will, judge people and nations who purposely turn themselves over to evil ways, and the truly caring christian wants to prevent that from happening to his/her loved ones & others, as well. My apologies for any christians' failure to do perfectly concerning any of you : we are all still in training & imperfect

We, as Christians, are as human as the next person. It's just I think, we usually have a more pounding conscience. But, when we try to walk closer to God that's when the devil really steps in to try to make it as hard as possible...hence we notice more faults and the disgusting desires that lay within us. There are a lot of "christians" out there who seem to be hypocrites...usually I've seen them mostly as the ones who preach it louder than others, condemn all they see...are holier than thou but have WAY wrong intentions when it gets to the core. But...we will never be perfect...not until we get to heaven. We make mistakes and often face harder challenges than non-christians because we have and realize a force that is fighting us the whole time trying to destroy us.

In a response to dejunete (spelling right?) below me.....yes, the Bible does say that once we become followers of Christ we are to strive to be like Him. But...we never will be just like Him (perfect) but we have the desire to try our best....but we do fall. Life is hard, it throws many obstacles and at time we forget to keep our eyes on Christ and fall into our own self-pity but...the point is to get back up, carry our cross and follow Him once more. There is NO perfect man, except for Christ...God in the Flesh.

They are as perfect or imperfect as the practitioners of other faiths, in addition to atheists and agnostics. None is perfect..... I really wonder why people expect me to be some sort of a Saint once I say I am Buddhist. I am faulty, just as all others are....

From my experiences christians try to live up to something intangible...trying to do their best. I don't know what that says to you, but to me it says that following these faiths based on mythological figures ensure the destruction of one's inner-being. Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions. I'm not afraid of some father figure from thousands of years ago. In training for what?? That is scary my friend. Believe in yourself and your friends/family. Not the worlds most popular imaginary friend.

Well God did tell us in the Bible to "Mark the perfect man" so that mean we have to walk upright, talk right, look right, act right just as Christ did.
