I thik i already answered this question once, but here goes again:

El Niño is a weather pattern that causes the water in the Central Pacific Ocean to warm. This disturbs ocean currents, and alters weather patterns worldwide. It causes droughts in some areas and excessive rains in others. There is a reverse effect called La Niña, but I am not sure how that one works.

it is a weather pattern that is unusual for the time of year. Like places in phoenix az got snow this year, SO NOT NORMAL and it has been really cold for alot of places. I live in az and up untill about a week after christmas it was in the 80s all day long. Just a few days ago it was freezing here during the day. Now its back up to 80. in a week or two its supposed to be back to freezing
yeah talk about global warming :P
