Generation gap develops when members of the older and younger generations refuse to accept the positive sides of each other's generation. Both the generations think that their generation is better than the other.
It is a fact that there are positive sides to both generations in any age. And there are negatives too. To close the gap, one must have an open mind to accept the positives from the other's generation and the negatives from his/her own generation. Such thoughts should be reciprocated from the other generation too. In other words, a little compromise will close the gap.

This is a fairly simple question to answer. People in different generations have different background experiences that have molded them into being who and what they are. As we age, our thinking changes with each new experience. Believe me, when you are fifty, you will think totally different from how you think at twenty. As far as coping is concerned, respect is the key. I may not agree with everything you believe or do, but I respect you enough to accept the fact that you think the way you do. In turn, that person needs to respect your viewpoint as well, whether or not they agree with it.
