Anxiety. You are totally right to be worried about your loved ones. It starts posing a problem when you can't function normally because you are in fear. Talk to a doctor about your anxiety. There are great medications out now, with very little side effects.

Hi, What you need to do is get a lot of exercise and keep your mind on doing active things or stuff you need to do. Treat you and your girlfriend to a nice dinner or a movie and then the next day go out running or clean your room, house, garage, etc. There are a lot of things you could do when you feel like this, don't just sit around and do nothing or stay up late, it will only take you further into depression. I do think you are experiencing mild depression, but if you follow those steps of being active and spending time with your girlfriend, then you should be fine. Sometimes, the things you eat will cause you to have issues with your health, if you eat all junk food then you will not be fit and you may go further into depression etc. So try to eat healthy, drink a lot of water and juice, run or do sit ups and push ups, take your girlfriend out, enjoy your life. You are NOT a freak and you never will be, all people go through this kind of thing. Quit the mountain due to at least ONE CAN a week, its probably all the sugar your are ingesting that is making you very nervous. For the headaches, take some extra strength Tylenol. Oh yes, and for the mood swings, calm down. Its because of all the sugar. Its sounds like you are a little stressed as well. Karate or running (exercise like I said) Will help let some of the anger and stress out. Sometimes if you get angry, go for a run or a walk and just swear at the person when you are alone and they aren't really there. I know you are a guy and this may seem a little girl-ish, but there is a thing called write-and-rip. You write down all your angry, sad, depressing emotions on a piece of paper and why and then rip it into tiny pieces. Feel better soon! I really hope this helps.

Anxiety. When it starts to overpower your daily life it is time to seek out Psychotherapy. We all have fears of loved ones dying, sometimes those fears are stronger than normal, like you have written. We know as Adults, that things can happen but as a norm they don't. I have those thoughts as well, not very often at all anymore and know what you mean by them being tiring. If you don't feel you can get a grip on them then realize that you need someone to help you overcome this.

Have you recently lost a loved one or friend (or even acquaintence) in a freak accident? Or, did you or a close friend / loved one have a near miss or scare? This may be the source of the problem. If it persists, or is affecting your daily life, you will need counciling.

OCD. You have to realize that "freak" accidents are just that -they don't happen often. Getting struck by lightning, shark attack, getting killed by a falling piano(unless you are Wiley E. Coyote) just don't happen every day. Worrying that someone will kill you or your family..unless you zip code is in Iraq, I think it's safe to assume that a random killing is not in you or your families immediate future. You are worrying about things you cannot control and until you realize that you cannot prevent the world from happening you are going to drive yourself insane.

"B" vitamin deficiency, and lack of exercise can aggravate these thoughts. I recommend nutritional yeast -(a tablespoon full- in a glass of V-8 juice). Of course on some level it might just be reality, and there is no cure for that at the moment. Maybe you are watching too much TV?

whatever you're thinking during the day is being turned into dreams at night. Why are you during the day fearing for your loved ones? Do you watch the news during the daytime or just before bedtime?

I don't know why everyone is looking for a label. If you are having these thoughts then there is definitely something wrong. Go to your physician and explain the situation. It may be medical but if not the it is psychological. Please have this looked into quickly.
