At seven months, my son can make squealy sounds, laugh, and blow bubbles, but so far, no mama or dada sound (we once heard a baa sound, but only once.) At what age do babies usually start babbling?

About 9 months is normal - some take longer than that - so don't worry - babies developed at their own rate - have fun - they grow up so quickly!@~

Babies babble at their own pace and every baby is different. Most of the time they start to babble around 5 or 6 months but some babies put it off til much later and some start much sooner. My oldest daughter started babbling when she was about 3 months old, but my youngest daughter didn't start babbling til she was about 9 months old. Give it time he will start to do it soon. I wouldn't worry too much just yet.

My daughter was a pro at saying dada when she was 7 months old but she's nearly 11 months old and still hasn't mastered any words except mama, dada, and baba... and half the time she doesn't even say baba... she just rubs her stomach and lets me know she is hungry... every baby learns different. Just be patient and talk to him a lot... the more you talk to them and read to them, the better they understand vocabulary... even if they choose not to talk right away.

Babies typically begin babbling at 5 - 7 months.

My second born cried "MaaaaMaaaa" immediately upon delivery. It was amazing. Unfortuantely, he cried it out when the doc whisked him from me right after delivery, thinking he had muconium. He didn't.

Dada is typically said first, as it's easier to say. The normal range for talking is very broad. As long as you know he can hear, and you talk back with your son while he talks, use long and complicated sentences as well as baby talk, he should develop well.

If he's in day care, this will slow his speech, of course.

Some babies start at an early age where other know how to talk but they don't. They can start talking as early as 7months. Some start talking mainly about a year old. Sometimes though, they won't until they are comfortable, which may take a few years.

Everyone is different. I started talking at 8 months and then by the time i was 15 months i was talking in full sentences. Your baby might start talking soon but it might be awhile. My cousin didnt start talking untill she was almost 2.

It depends on the baby, because when i was 7 months i started to say words and almost putting sentences together, but for another baby it could be after they turn 1. You never know, all babies are different.
