I'm not talking doomsday scenarios and I don't believe all the hype about global warming - just interested in peoples views on how the world will be shaped - technologically, economically, spiritually and politically? Will we have the same fractured religions leading to feuding and war? Will the US still be the major power or will China have overcome their inertia to dominate global politics? Will all work for humans have disappeared as all tasks are replaced by robots? Will we be trading with other civilisations?

well, that stuff about global warming is true. The government is not going to tell us everything and there is proof that the ozone is deteriorating. But anyways...I think unless people change the way they feel about the earth appearance wise it will look like crap. Now economically I think or at least hope things will be better. I mean the deficit could go down and maybe some of the third world countries will have elevated to the status of the U.S. or England. I think our polics will change because sooner or later like in the U.S. people are going to get tired of all this left side this and right side this and there will be third party that will have the people's rights in mind. Maybe less corruption. I'm really afraid for our religious aspects though. I mean just look at what's happening all around the world and how people's morals seem to be either non-existent or in a coma. The U.S. is already trying to take religion out of everyone because someone gets offended or something. Technologically the world can only get better. I mean we make new advances everyday and that's something that will always happen because we can never learn it all. If we don't get attacked and overrun then the U.S will probably still be a major power in the world. I doubt that all work for humans will have disappeared because for that to happen everyone in the world would have to be rich or have enough money or money would have to disappear. I mean we work and pay taxes to pay for social security. Well i doubt they will pay a robot so for all those people that social benefits pay for they'll have no money. Maybe money will be gone all together and we'll barter/trade with things we have like clothes and food. I doubt it but it sounds different.

Face it or are you afraid for the truth, in 500 years the world don't exist anymore.
And yes the global warming is one of the few steps to it.
Where there is religion their is war that's already many thousands of years and that will always be, till the big bang.
Why you think they send things in to space?Well just to explore , and the people who have enough money will be gone to other planet(s) while the others will die here on earth, doomsday? No just realistic.

Live in present,no one can predict of a world after 5 centuries. But make sure in the coming days of globalization this world will become a smaller place to live in.All boundaries & barriers deleted by 2025.One country, one world, one nationality,we will be one.
Have a nice time.

I don't know the answer to your main question, but I'm reminded of this tale...............

There was a man who was being shown around a car plant where the lines of robotic arms went on making car after car in a beautiful steady flow.

The manager of the plant explained quite happily that 'their robots rarely broke down, never caught colds, didn't go on holidays nor,' he laughed, 'had labour issues.'

After some moments, the visitor turned to the manager and asked him, "How many of your robots buy cars?"

Sash.

We'll still be looking at what we're living for and make endless mistakes until everything wrong is done...

That's always the last spot you look at that hides the thing you were looking for.

Hopefully humans will have become exctinct and so the planet will be starting to recover from the damage we've done.
