A Democracy, as he sees it, gets his friends richer by providing another country in which to build up trade and sell products. Then they are closer to resources like oil, with governments that are less idealogically opposed to his own.
So, in a nutshell, greed.

First, the U.S. is not really a republic. The truer definition of our form of government is a representational democracy. What that means is that everybody has a chance to vote for people to represent us in government. If we don't like our representatives, we can vote them out of office.
I don't think a true democracy could actually exist in any large scale as it would require everyone to vote on every issue. Instead we elect representative to vote for us.
The reason that Bush talks about spreading democracy, is that is the only form of government where the people are truly free. Any other kind of government gives power to a few and the majority must follow.

First, the U.S. isn't probable a republic. The greater true definition of our variety of government is a representational democracy. What which skill is that all people has a risk to vote for individuals to symbolize us in government. If we don't love our representatives, we are in a position to vote them out of workplace. i do no longer think of a real democracy ought to easily exist in any great scale because it may require all people to vote on each subject. particularly we elect consultant to vote for us. the reason that Bush talks approximately spreading democracy, is that's the only variety of government the place the people are fairly loose. the different variety of government provides skill to three and the majority ought to stay with.

Don't be fooled. America is a constitutional republic not a democracy. A democracy give each citizen a vote, straight up. We are a republic because we elect representitives that do the voting for us. We are a republic because we bow to things like the electoral college and electronic vote counting.
Why does our president preach democracy? because it sounds good, and it has for about 230 years.
Thanks

America is a democratic republic, combining the best traits of both political policies. Yes, we are supposed to be spreading democracy in Iraq. Arguing such useless points doesn't help anything.

Spreading Democracy around the world is not a new thing for U.S. Presidents. If you happen to recall Woodrow Wilson wanting to make the world " safe for democracy." Woodrow is perhaps one of our greatest presidents, his "missionary diplomacy" is still hailed by many Democrats, but it isn't much different than Bush's foriegn policy.

Bush has no idea of what he's saying. The speeches are written for him and he doesn't even bother to read them beforehand. We have a moron for a president.

Because he wants people to have a say in thier government. Terrorism cannot happen in this kind of situation. Freedom is the natural yearning of people. This is the fundamental conflict in the war of terror. It is freedom vs oppression.
