don't listen to all this people here.

i have a Citibank checking account and i ordered money card to Citibank for them to send to my mom, once she gets the card tell her to call you and give you the card number and then you can link it to your bank account here in US, you can just log on to Citibank on line banking and just put the money card number that your mom give it to you and you can start sending her money.

it only cost $8 dollars to send and you can only send $1000 per transaction and then she have to get part or all of the money out of the card first before you can send her some more. once you send the money she can get it right away.

Western Union is good but it is very expensive. I send money to my fiancee through xoom and it costs far less.

WU has an advantage in that the money can be picked up almost anywhere, anytime while Xoom is more limited.

I have the money automatically deposited into my fiance's bank account and she just uses her ATM card so the advantage that WU has over Xoom for convenience is meaningless to me.

Here is an example of the fees.

Xoom:
If I was to send $100 USD, the maximum fee is $8 while the value service is $3.99. Xoom's conversion rate is at 47.7972

Western Union:
Again, I am sending $100. The fee is $20 and the conversion rate is 47.7792

The cost variance is even more as you increase the amount sent. WU will charge me $51 to send $500 while Xoom is $9.99 or $20.

WU costs more money to send and their conversion rate is lower, albeit a very slim difference.

Get ready for a shocker, it's not Western Union, or BPI remittance or Yikes! money orders; Just go to a Walmart service desk and ask for a money transfer form. If your people over there have a bank account it only takes a few hours for them to get the cash.

Its western union. I have been sending money to the philippines for the past 3yrs every 2 weeks.
The recipient need to watch for counterfeit peso bills or U.S. currency. They should there count their money. The people who appear to be sincere are the ones you need to be aware of. Always be cautious!!!!!

You can use all of them: Western Union, Xoom Money , Money Gram, or Bank wire. they are safe. Just be sure you knew the reciepent very well. Many scammers e.g gays were victimizing unwary foriegners using fake identities mostly on online dating sites.
