John Lennon had a White Bosendorfer at his home in New York. I don't have a copy of Let it Be to look at (there are photos of the piano on the record sleeve), but I think either a Bosendorfer or Steinway Grand, and definately 88 keys.

Paul McCartney used a Bluthner Flugel (from Leipzig, former East Germany) for Let It Be. Contrary to previous posting, Imagine was composed and recorded on a Steinway upright piano - it was auctioned in 2000 for, I think, about a million.... Are there any proper pianos which do NOT have 88 keys?
