The best one is always the one made by the game company. The knock offs usually have problems either with sticking to the floor (some slide too much), not working, or shorter life span.

The Konami softpad is for starters.
Then the RedOctane softpad.
Followed up by the best, expensive, type: Cobalt Fluxes at $300.

I am not sure of the name but you can get two dance pads and a game at Sam's Club for about $50.00 I bought this for my niece and it was fun. On the game that you get with this pack you can put your own music in and the game analyzes the music and puts in moves for the dacepad.
