Lord...don't you think this kind of thing is part of what's wrong with this world ? Only perverts and weirdos participate in junk like that...there are some messed up people out there. Screwed up values or lack of any, I suppose. It's shameful that their lives involve those things and that lifestyle. They choose it, and that is what's scary.

If you think the world would be better of without prostitutes than where do you think perverts (and semi-rapists) would go to, to have get laid? I tell you it is better to have a well screened red-light district, than illegal prostitution or worse rapists who can't loose their sexual desires anymore.

The Red Light District in Amsterdam is quiet different than other prostitution places. Here in the states obviously prostitution is illegal. In their controlled atmosphere there, the prostitutes are actually a lot more healthy than that of the United States and so forth because their controlled. STD testing is taken every week to even be able to run a place like that. It is a legitimate business with taxes and policies it has to be strict with. The Netherlands is the for most tolerant country of that sort of thing even when it comes to drugs. They definitely got it right being more tolerant of soft drugs and less people doing harder drugs such as cocaine, heroin, and more. No wonder why the US is troubled in this aspect.

One more thing is that prostitution is the oldest profession in the world for women.

Prostitution quite differnt than in the states. there is even a fetish zone.

Some of the streets are more like thin alleys, and the girls open the window and show themselves off freely.

Much cleaner than you'd expect - there is screening, licencing, enforcement and even taxation.

Southwest from the main train station maybe 1 km
