All I see is one week forecast on weather channel, then the groundhog comes out and predicts it for SIX WEEKS in advance, wow.

The groundhog union has very restrictive rules on how much they have to work. Basically it is a short work period followed by a long period of rest. That is how they are able to bang out such accurate forecasts.
If they had to work every day like meteorologists, their accuracy would begin to fall. One of our local TV stations employed one for awhile, but by the time they let him go, his accuracy was about 20 percent. Still plenty good for TV but he became insensitive to the viewers and would make fun of them for not living underground, etc. so he was fired and sent packing in disgrace.

good question . but the ground hog can only see their shadow they can't really predict the weather it's just a tradition we have here in the USA i love groundhog day . but I'm going to catch the one that is digging my yard up every spring and make some ground hog stew

That is a good question. He is about as acurate as the human weather forecasters.
