Going Home by Mary Fahl
used on the soundtrack for Gods & Generals and on her cd The Other Side of Time it's a very beautiful song
They say there's a place
where dreams have all gone
They never said where
but I think I know
It's miles through the night
just over the dawn
on the road that will take me home
I know in my bones
I've been here before
The ground feels the same
though the land's been torn
I've a long way to go
The stars tell me so
on this road that will take me home
Love waits for me 'round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And I'll know what I've lost
and all that I've won
when the road finally takes me home
And when I pass by
don't lead me astray
Don't try to stop me
Don't stand in my way
I'm bound for the hills
where cool waters flow
on this road that will take me home
Love waits for me 'round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And we'll know what we've lost
and all that we've won
when the road finally takes me home
I'm going home
I'm going home
I'm going home
Dante's Prayer and The Two Trees by Loreena McKennitt as well.

Disconnecktie (The Faithful Vampire) - Norma Jean
It's taken me 50,000 separate wrecks to get here,
And I've learned absolutely nothing.
As I'm standing here alone, upright and motionless,
I'm drowning in her sea.
The rising and sinking of every consciousness I've ever known.
Now detached and disconnected.
The endless cycle of idea and action,
Endless invention, endless experiment.
Endless hope and endless disappointment.
And I thought all I needed was just one breath to stay afloat.
For me it was like... like the breath, the last breath.
The last breath that I never wanted, any of this.
I never thought that this would capsize,
But this isn't a boat, it's a coffin!
And now I'm moving forward.
Into the sea... into the great sea.
So I begin with the end in mind.
The cycles of heaven, 20 centuries gone by, come home.
The end is coming like a flood.
It is going to be a year for growing and the greatest amount of forgetting.
My sea is dying, but death is a doorway.
And at the very root of me I know this.
It's the greatest reminder.
What a broad world to roam in, what a sea to swim in...
So I begin with the end in mind.

I want the "audience" to sing The Waterboys - Whole of the Moon, and as the coffin goes into the curtains, Shakespear's Sister - You're History.
I want my funeral to be fun and happy occassion. Not into all this wailign and moaning in life, so certainly won't be when I'm dead!

"I'll Be There" by Escape Club
Over Mountains
Over Trees
Over Oceans
Over Seas
I'll be there
In a whisper on the wind
On the smile of a new friend
Just think of me
And I'll be there
Don't be afraid, oh my love
I'll be watching you from above
And I'd give all the world tonight,
To be with you
Because I'm on your side,
And I still care
I may have died,
But I've gone nowhere
Just think of me,
And I'll be there
On the edge of a waking dream
Over Rivers
Over Streams
Through Wind and Rain
I'll be there
Across the wide and open sky
Thousands of miles I'd fly
To be with you
I'll be there
Don't be afraid, oh my love
I'll be watching you from above
And I'd give all the world tonight,
To be with you
Because I'm on your side,
And I still care
I may have died,
But I've gone nowhere
Just think of me,
And I'll be there
In the breath of a wind that sighs
Oh, there's no need to cry
Just think of me,
Cause I'll be there

I do like "go rest high on the mountian" but i also like old rugged cross . I think for me it would have to be "further along" though.. I love the brad paisley version of it but it seems to me the music there should be healing to those left behind and that song just has a healing quality to it to me.......
I used to think I wanted comfortably numb though
