I have a six month old and the other day there was a really cold wind chill. She was having some trouble breathing so I quickly covered her mouth. Your life has to go on, I don't think its healthy to keep an infant stuck in the house all winter because its cold...it's only the begiining of the season. That being said, not only make sure your infant is bundled nice and warm, but cover his or her mouth and nose, in a way that still allows him/her to breathe, with a scarf or a blanket. The direct air is hard on the lungs. This will help warm the air up before they breathe it in. My daughter enjoys the cold, she thinks its fun. It also a learning experience for them.
Getting a cold from the weather is a myth. I've taking a bunch of biology classes. We get colds in the winter because we are inside more and are therefore exposed to more germs.

It is 5 here in Boston, and I worried about the same thing today. You can take them out, as in get them to the car, if they are bundled in layers and put a recieving blanket over the carseat until you get it into the vehicle. If possible, warm up the car first. If you are thinking of taking a walk somewhere, I think you should stay inside. Infants can lose body-heat FAST.

Only if you have to. They can get cold very quickly. If you do take them out. Make sure to bundle them good. Cover them with a baby quilt or blanket. Hopefully you are taking them to a car not just outside playing.

Of course, just make sure it's only for a short period of time. Like, a walk to the car, and make sure the car is warmed up. There are people living in Alaska, what do you they do with their children when they have to go somewhere? Just make sure your child is bundled up and their face is covered.

Age? If you have to leave or go somehwere I don't see the problem. As long as you have the child bundled tightly and securely and the car warmed up, I see no problem. They do say you should not go out of the house the first week.

they can go out, just make sure they are warm and are wearing enough clothes. get like a snow suit or a thick coat. and if u are just going from one place to another, then you can make sure the car is warm and that way they wont be in cold longer than a few seconds.

I would say no if you don't have to. If you have to then make sure the baby is dressed in layers of clothes and hat, and lots of blankets. It's 9 degrees here and me and my son are staying in.
