I just applied for U.S. Passport for the first time. I fill that U.S. Passport form in the Post Office yesterday and I gave right away to the Post Office person who was working. So my question is: In that Passport form they asked some questions: Which is my parents name and birth date. And I wrote my parents name correct, but Im not sure if I wrote their birth date year correct.I asked my mother today and she told me the correct birth date year of both, but a already send that Passport form yesterday. I would like to make sure if I wrote their right birth date year. So I stopped at Post Office today to see if they still have my Passport form wich i wrote, but they said its gone. And I dont know what to do now. How can I be in contact with Passport person and asked then to make sure I got their correct birth date years? I think I could try to call then but I dont known if they going to give me a hard time or I will have a problem or will be ok. What do you think I should do?

If the passport bureau does any actual investigation of the names and dates you provided, they will likely find out that the information is incorrect and reject you passport request. You will be notified by mail in a few weeks.

If you do somehow get the passport, you can write back to them or contact them and advise that the information about the birth dates is incorrect and request a fix.

I would consider contacting them now via phone and ask them if they received the passport request because you want to make a correction. The only issue I see is that this may cause delays in your passport processing, or could be difficult to address if they have not located it or started working on it yet.

Giving false information to obtain a passport could be considered a criminal offence, but in this case I think you should be able to clear it up.

(NOTE: People really should read the instructions carefully when filling out government documents. It is important to get them correct or you may have to wait a long time, or pay a second time for the same processing. Filling out a passport form and "casually" entering values that you are not sure about is not the way to go. It would have saved a lot of headaches to wait a day or two and get the right info first.)

I wouldnt worry about it so much. They will contact you if they need to. I recently looked at my marriage license and realized my mothers birthplace was wrong, and I had given my stepfathers info instead of my birthfather and no one ever caught it including me! There is such a rush on passports right now, it is hardly something they would deny you over.

i dont really think that would be a problem! just leave it alone, but if you feel the need to change the info, there will be a number to contact when you receive your passport
