the problem is! i need to use my parents computer to do things like jobsearch and studying. i have my own computer, but i share a room with my brother, who i don't like. the reason why my parents have installed a net nanny is because i do use dating sites and i do like to look at laddish stuff (hey i am a growing man). actually i am 28 and they've the computer is not for my use and if i continue using it, they will put a paddock on the door. the real problem is! they think they can control me and i've tried to explain to them that i am 28 and they have absolutely no control over what i do at all. they think that because i am still under there roof, i have to abide by their rules. it simply doesn't work like that. i am a 28 year old for christ sake. in my life i have always lived with my parent's, i don't know what it is like being apart from them and living on my own. i am out of work and on benefits. the first i want to happen is! i want the net nanny uninstalled.

Sorry, I don't think you are going to find many people willing to back you up on this one.
You are a 28 year old guy with no job, living with your parents, no girl friend, and wanting to look at porn on their computer.
Not only that, you complaining because they do not want you to look at porn on their computer.
That is not a team many people are wanting to join.

It is their house so they should set the rules. First of all, go get a job. If you don't know what to do go and work at a pub or shop part time, while you get some professional advice from the local council careers office. Then once you sort that get a job and then move out. Then you can do what ever you like. Word of my opinion, even thogh I am a male and have no idea of what a woman thinks. I can't think that they would go for a 28 year old who lives at home.
Just a thought.

1. Why does net nanny prevent you from job searching? Unless you are looking for a job as a porn star;
2. You say you have your own computer - what's wrong with using that? Sharing a room with a brother you don't like is no reason for you not to be able to use your computer to look for a job.
3. If you're for real, you may want to visit the doctor, as you appear to have some fairly disordered thought patterns and are lacking in logic. This could be symptomatic of mental illness.

Get your own place then you can do what ever you like. They are right you are under their roof and you will have to abide by their rules. Would you go into someone elses house and simply do what ever you like just because you are 28 and a "grown man". Act like a grown man, stop throwing the toys out your cot. Go to the job centre and search for your jobs there, and use a mates computer to view your "laddish stuff". You sound like you want your cake and want to eat it too. Be lucky you have roof over your head.

You are 28, living with your parents, sharing a room with your brother, AND unemployed? Let me guess, you don't have a girlfriend either. I think you need to find a job asap and get out. Under your parents roof you need to do as they say. Sorry, they are obviously doing you a favor by letting you live there. Are you paying rent? Probably not. So they really have control over you. Grow up, and become an adult, asap. You are almost 30!!

Well since you say that your a grown man- move out and get your own place. If you live under their roof you need to follow their rules. Since you continue to use your parents computer even though you know they do not want you to use it you are showing them nothing but disrespect. I think it would be in their best interest to show you some tough love and kick you out.

You really need to sort your life out. Your parents have every right to expect certain standards from you and for you to obay by certain rules. If you don't like the terms that your parents place on you living under thier roof, then move out and get yourself a job!

I assume this is a joke, because you couldn't possibly be that dumb. If this is serious...then you need to get out of your parents house, and get a job. It's their house, and if you live in it, you abide by their rules, no matter how old you are. That's the way the world works. You don't like the rules, move out.

Well, you answered your own querstion. You live under their roof so you live by their rules.
I guarantee you my hubby and I were exactly the same with my sons when they lived at home.
The difference is they have jobs now and their own homes, now they get to make their own rules.
It does not matter how old you are. One of my boys tried that one at 18. He didn't try it again.
Get yourself a job and your own place, then you get to make the rules.

They obviously don't want your trash laddish stuff on their computer. It is no good stamping your feet. You do need to get a job and buy your own computer. It is their house and their rules.
