I recently began writing my officeholders, found it only takes about 10 seconds to find them on google, even if you don't know their names. Now I feel I've said my peace, and feel a lot better.
Have you written any government leaders, and how did you feel?

I send an email once in a while. I think the last time was right before the elections. Writing to the white house is pretty pointless. All you get back is a standardized letter that may or may not address your issue/question/comment.

I write them about every week and sometime more than once a week. I do get the standard BS letter back but I think they most likely have a system that allows a tally of the letters for and against an issue. I send a lot of my letters through congress.org, mega vote, and caps and I do believe that the letters do some good.

I wrote one on behalf of somebody who had a relative who became a POW, that became some years in the past. gained a right worded letter in return yet they did no longer do squat to help. All communicate, no action. The case resolved itself in a question of months.

I wrote mine recently, but I too received a generic letter that had nothing to do with the topic I wrote on. I wonder if letters make a difference.

I have written them a few times recently in regards to helping my mother-in-law get a tourist visa. I get prompt and sometimes personal letters back from their staff, but they are never any help.
