Depending on the type of equipment used and the skill of the technician, it is very possible to see the genitals at 15 weeks. I had an ultrasound at 14 weeks and they said it was a boy (printed pics and everythign)...I went back for my 20 week ultrasound and they confirmed it was definately a boy. So it all depends on the babys position, the tech, the ultrasound machine they use, etc.
However, with that being said...it will be a better thing to wait...it will be alot easier for the tech to tell at around 20 weeks! (incase you have a 'not so good' tech this time around).

There is nothign worse than beign told you are havign a girl...going otu and buying pink...then finding out your little girl grew extar parts...haha...and havign to return everythign and buy blue!

I know it is super exciting, ut waiting will give you the best answer for sure!

Good luck and congrats!

My ex husband is a Ultrasound Tech and throughout both of my preg. We did ultrsounds every month. The very earliest that you or the doctor will be able to see the sex is 22 weeks and even that is pretty much a guess. Usually they check the sex at 24 to 26 weeks. Sorry.
Good Luck.

They usually can't tell until twenty weeks, even then it is not a for sure thing. You may have a better chance if you get a 3D ultrasound, but the babies organs are fully developed until 20+ weeks anyway. Good Luck.

Lol NO! Ha, ha...I'm 16 weeks pregnant and went last week to get an ultrasound to check for growth and I asked the ultrasound tech if we could see the sex and they said the genitals are too small at that stage to tell.....so, I was disappointed. But, I find out at 22 weeks!!

around 20 weeks is the first you can distinguish sex. about the time you start feeling the baby move is when sex is able to be seen. most obs will do a routine sono at this time for size confirmation of the fetus and to allow you to know the sex.

Going on memory here, but I believe you have to be 16- 18 weeks before they can tell the sex. Then it depends on whether the baby is laying so they can see.

I would say no. In most cases they want you t o be at least 20 weeks so they have a better idea of the sex.

I was told that I was having a boy at 13 weeks. I have 11 more weeks to go to find out if they were right so we'll see.
