My sister bought a computer(re built) for her Grands. She had to put it back in the shop a couple of weeks later. She bought a 3 year extended warranty on it. The guy acted as if he had no clue what she was talking about, he fixed the computer, but said the warranty wasn't good for much.
If you are purchasing a large item through a reputable company, it might be good. All the other stuff, by the time you have to send it back to the company and pay the shipping, it's not a good idea.

no, i feel like items that offer extended warranties should longer than 2 years anyway so I'm not wasting my money

I never buy extended warranties. They are usually a scam to get your money, plus they have so many loop holes. It might not cover the problem anyway.

Depends on a lot of factors. How much will it cost to replace? How likely is it to break? Is it or are you prone to accidents? Do you value the peace of mind?

There is no right answer so don't pay attention to anyone who says it's always good or bad.

It depends on what I buy. If it's an expensive piece of electronic equipment, I usually do. (or appliance), But for something like a small appliance that can be replace easily, no.

YES.

I always get it on new stuff that was expensive. And when I spilled a bottle of water on my *brand spanking new* digital camera, I just took it right back and I got a new one. No hassel!
