Visit a career counselor today!

There are many services and resources, free of cost, that are available to the general public through private and public providers. Often, though you are already employed, these agencies will help you assess the following:

1) Whether you should change careers
2) When is the best time to do this
3) What factors will help/hinder you making a career change
4) What education/credentials you will need to make you competitive/licensed for your new occupation
5) How and where to get this desired training the fastest and most economical way

These agencies often have networking and support clubs and groups designed to allow people to encourage each other, learn together, and share their experiences (which may later help you land a job).

Career counselors can also review your resume and help you rewrite it once you're ready to start pursuing a new career path.

Since you have access to the internet, don't forget that there are many online services and resources that are free, too.

Click on the links below to see some samples of places to start looking, and do a search on "CAWIB" as well.

Good luck!

I am also a teacher and feel the same way. I actually hate teaching so much, I was driving myself crazy. I started my own business about a year ago to supplement my income and now, I am doing so well, I am going to be able to quit teaching and run my business. My time will be freed up so I can do the things I want, like volunteer and such. I do have another suggestion. I do not make any money off of this or anything, it is just a friendly suggestion, go watch the movie the secret at

It will help you change your whole thinking. Good luck and if you need someone to complain to, feel free because I do feel your pain!

Welcome to the world of realism. Well you are not alone. That should be the first thing you must know. Try this - first try to arrive at a self analysis on what you like the most and try to align your career with that. It is hard to advise without knowing specifics of your likes and dislikes. As far as money is concerned - you may do few part time jobs as well. Opportunities are there if you watch out very carefully and thoughtfully.

If you are a teacher, then you must know that it is not the only thing available to you. If you teach math, do accounting, if you teach reading, be a librarian, if you teach you have to have a variety of skills. You will be stuck in that career as long as you think it is the only thing you can do.

With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
