Sadly, less and less prisons are letting inmates clean up trash. What DO prisoners do anymore? they dont pick up garbage, they dont make license plates....what is the point of their existance if they aren't doing cheap labor?

I see you've gotten a lot of answers. I'll add mine;
Littering is a sign of complacency. People who litter don't care about anyone but themselves. Dump the trash and let someone else worry about it. Unfortunately there aren't enough prisoners in the world to clean up after slovenly people who casually eliminate their concern for the garbage they just dumped at their own feet. Those who DO clean up after you usually work for the city, collect a paycheck, divert funds from more important tasks like police and fire, raise your taxes (as you whine about it).
And you generally add to the problem rather than becoming a part of the solution.

If you don't want to live in a littered area, why contribute to it?
If you do want to live in a littered area, liter your home only.
A little consideration of others doesn't hurt (and I'm not talking about job security fro prisoners).

1. Its illegal
2. Your poluting the air your breathe
3. Not all prisoners do that job.
4. Who wants to walk through your garbage on there way to work?
5. Do you want to breath in peoples garbage all day?
6. Would you want to walk by smelly garbage on the ground on your way to work?
7. How hard is it for you to walk to a garbage can and throw your garbage away or hold it untill you get to a garbage?

You can't be serious in regards to this question? Do you think Mohter Earth takes care of herself? I think people should be report for littering and receive a hefty fine. Especially people who throw cigarett butts out the windows. What are they thinking!!!We don't have enough space now for landfills, and bring up about burning and folks have a hissy fit. We are a throw away society and don't think about the long term damage.

If no one had to pick up after you, they could be doing something much more productive. Your littering is standing in the way of this happening. Not to mention, it's pretty damn arrogant of you to expect some one else to pick up after you.
