I am pro-choice like you. We have so many choices that would allow us to NOT get pregnant in the first place.

I feel like I am pro-choice. I have never had unprotected sex in my life, and always discussed birth control with every girlfriend I ever had. I would like to think that it would be best for me to become a parent only because myself and my girlfriend at the time were ready for monogamy and parenthood, not because of a faulty product.
I can tell you as well, growing up in today's world (I am in my mid-20's), that there were so many times in high school especially, I could have pressured a younger girl who was sexually inexperienced into unprotected sex were I so inclined. So I'm not so sure that the "if you can't be responsible, don't have sex" thought is so correct. Fourteen and fifteen year old kids are having sex now. They don't always carry condoms and they don't always think. Believe me, if I were having sex at 15, I would've done anything some older woman would've asked! We're dumb in our youths and dumb sometimes as adults.
Some people plan families and then they lose thier jobs, some women become widowed while pregnant (like my best friend recently, who chose an abortion), sometimes people realize they made a mistake.
I don't really understand the reasons why people feel abortion is a moral issue, but I sure wouldn't challenge anyone on their views. But if you are "anti-abortion" or "pro-life" (I don't know what the preferred one is) then don't have abortions, but to comment on someone else's situation is pretty mean in my opinion.
A lot of people use these things as forums to bash religious groups though, which I also think is pretty mean and rude too. I can't understand how anybody can be religious, but figure it's not very polite to challenge someone's viewpoint unless they've asked me to (like posing a question in Yahoo! Answers).
You'd be surprised how much easier answers are to find when you use a few manners.

The pro-life and pro-choice names were deliberately chosen to make the other side seem like demons. Pro-life people make the other side seem as if they're pro-death, pro-choice people make the other side seem as if they're controlling and invasive. I don't quite see how the foetus has a choice to not be killed - be gestated in this mother who's pro-abortion and die, or go and be gestated elsewhere in a mother who is anti-abortion? If the foetus had a choice then surely they would steer well clear of the abortionists - of course suggesting that they don't have a choice at all.

I believe the choice is made when you choose to have sex. I suggest that those using rape as an example of why abortion should be legal should take a long hard look at statistics--the statistics of women becoming pregnant due to rape and choosing to have an abortion afterward...or for that matter the chances of becoming pregnant in the midst of such a terrifying event...abortion is used a form of birth control more than it is ever used as a 15 year old's "protection" from her "evil step-father"

Hail NAW! I am all about keeping fetus' alive.... People need to take a look at a pic of a underdeveloped child, it looks just like a baby! ****** ignorants!
Alive means that this being is growing, developing, maturing, and replacing its own dying cells. It means not being dead.
Human means one of the biological beings who be-longs to the species Homo Sapiens. Such beings are unique from all other beings in that they have 46 human chromosomes in every cell. Such beings do not belong to the rabbit family, the carrot family, etc. {from the moment of conception there is 46 chromosomes}

Hey! I hate those tree hugging hippies too! But yes I am pro- choice. When evil and corrupt men and women plant a seed they can not feed or nurture with TLC, I'd rather them decide if they can parent a child then it ending up in your local dumpster, or born with crack and heroin birth defects! But I see your point..blame all of this on women. Men have no fault or horny disgusting ways. They never sleep with little girls and get them pregnant. They never rape anyone! You are a tree hugging hippie, and I hate you.

Very much so and I am an active participant to keep it that way! It is not for anyone to push their morals and values on me. I dont believe it is up to anyone to decide what is best for me or any other woman. We all should have the right to decide for ourselves what direction we take our lives and when!
