Probably because he would perjure himself.

"He has more important things to do" -- That is a joke. What does he actually do all day? Since 9/11 we have been at war with a faceless enemy, and have spent billions of dollars in the process.

It's sad when someone always has to use the "It's a liberals fault, Blame the libs, liberals done this/that" without supporting their argument.

I agree with Frank. But I don't think that's the only reason he refused to testify. His puny little mind also can't handle the pressure of having to do difficult independent thinking without a script. Why do you think his audiences are handpicked to be obedient little puppies, not to ask difficult questions and not to speak above the vocabulary of a 10 year old? After 20 plus years of boozing, Junior's brain cells are all fried and he probably couldn't comprehend the questions being put to him anyway. Also, his lack of intellect would have made it very hard for him to keep his story straight while he dodged contradictory versions of his own and other's testimony. In other words, he was afraid of setting himself up to being caught in a lie, which he ultimately would have been.

Well, he's probably hiding something... and he's probably going on yet another vacation just at about that time, too... ain't that convenient... ooops, I mean "coincidental" Ha! Someone sure got to him quickly enough to tell him that if he does NOT testify, he can't be charged with lying (or playing that "at this point in time" game of "not remembering"). Reminds me of "Tricky Dicky" Nixon... and if I recall, Cheney and Rumsfeld were members of Tricky Dicky's White House henchmen! There's a pair of dishonest administrations (Tricky Dicky Nixon & Dubya Bush)... with advisors in common, too!

If he testifies under oath then he can be brought up on charges for his lying and cheating. Clinton was not impeached for his sexual antics, he was charged with lying to the court. Bush knows full well that if he testifies under oath and tells his usual lies he will be brought up on charges. That is why he did not swear and needed Cheney to tell him what to say.

he has more important things to do, and he is probably tired of the liberal witch hunt that has been attacking him since he took office.
