Yes, It does sound like you're lonely and overwhelmed with the mess so you're escaping into the computer. Make yourself limit computer time to only a few hours each day or only every other day. Set a timer when you get on and stick to it, then make yourself do a few hours of housework before you can get back on the computer much later that evening. It sounds like you just gave up cleaning up because "who's gonna see it anyway?" You are seeing it, and you know it looks bad, you are important enough to live in a nice environment! Do it for you! Work a little every day on cleaning it up and you'll see results in no time. Pick the farthest corner from the door and start there to the trash can. You CAN do it! Good Luck! =)

Yep! loneliness. reaching out for someone. I sit at mine for hours doing nothing but I clean my house too. I can't stand the clutter and filth. Maybe you have some depression going on and maybe your just lazy. Did your family keep the house clean while you were growing up? Mine did not and my siblings are all pigs but I've always been clean. My mom says I have always been odd that way. I had a girlfriend who would not clean or do anything else for that matter. Now she is gone. Your environment, the place you live reflex to others how you are and a person who doen't clean is seen as dirty period. Who wants to be with a filthy girl? I like clean women. What about the health aspects of not cleaning? I also have a friend who has never cleaned and is usually in poor health. I like my friend but hate going over. Do a little at a time. Even it's it's just one thing then while the next download is running fold some laundry. It's not so bad and you will find yourself actually wanting to improve your environment once you can see the results. Or just be a pig and draw bugs. Geeez!

Well, if your typing and punctuation is owt ta go by ...I'd say that you were right, 'You can't be bovered,' or even 'bothered.'

However, there is a silver lining here ~ which is the fact that you are actually mentioning this 'thing.' It is indicative of some semblance of life smouldering somewhere below the surface.

It's up to you whether you want to fan it into life.

'Loneliness of the long distance net user,' likely, especially if it limits human interaction on a face-to-face basis. Try exercising your lower limbs and get out and about more. The increase of your blood supply through circulation does much to stimulate the space between the ears ~ with spin-offs in all kinds of directions.

Give it a try, and if you don't like it, well, you can always return to 'not bovered.'

Good hunting (with choices).
Sash.

I live alone and lonely, and I have found it can make you an easy pray for depression.
'So I have something that is sacred for me: no matter if it rains or makes a sunny day, every saturday morning is my time to take care of the house. I open all the windows, wash, clean, let the sun come in, get everything bright and scented.
You have to set up a day and a time to do things. My house is messy too, I am not a excellent house keeper nor I want to be nor I need to be, but the house has to be clean enough and nice enough not only if someone comes visit, but because you are living on it, and you deserve to live with dignity :-D

You just feel at home in a messy house, nothing is wrong with that. and being on the computer is addicting Take an hour the morning and straighten things up and before going to bed do chores. A couple things here and there might make your house more organized

Might be lonliness, might be self pity. Only you know. Turn your computer off and clean one room from top to bottom and see how you feel. After all, you can't use the computer whilst your friend is on a dating site.

Suggest to your friend that you both do something not relating to dating sites and see how she reacts.

Good luck

Try to get yourself out of this rut. You can't always be the one people are visiting, you have to take time to visit people also. If all else fails, talk to a doctor. He will some good advice on anti-depressants. Also, spell check only takes 5 seconds.

I get in the same rut sometimes. I feel bad so I don't clean and that makes me feel worse. Someone told me that she thinks the condition of someone's house reflects their state of mind and I have to agree. My son helps me out by reminding me that if I clean one small thing, commit to that...I'll get caught up in it and then start feeling better and clean more.

Well writing questions on Yahoo Answers isn;t going to get your house tidied, or your studies done. So its about time you get your priorities straight.

Work out how much time you have for surfing the net, studying AND socialising. Get out and meet people, find new skills. You need to find a balance
