i once had a very large detailed map . i traced the river all the way back to a small creek in Canada . i know that the USA does not say it starts there but if you check a map as i did you will be able to trace the water all the way back up to this small creek.

look on a map of Minnesota. the Miss. starts up there where it's so small you can jump over it.
