Sound more like you have spyware. Go to lavasoft.com and download Ad-Aware. It's a great program.
Or better yet, go to Iolo.com and download System Mechanic, it is a 5 star program that I consider manditory on my PC.
Good Luck!

EDIT:
Go to Pandasoftware.com and give yourself an online scan, Panda is a great antivirus.
or..
Download AVG Antivirus, it's free and works quite well.

First of all, Microsoft has a built in pop up blocker that came with Service Pack 2, that is turned on. if you've turned this off, I would turn it back on in Internet Explorer by going to Tools menu, Pop up blocker. Secondly, do a google search for spybot and download it and run it. thirdly, do a google search for avg free antivirus and down load it and run it, or go to www.trendmicro.com and run their free virus scan, which will also scan for spyware. Do this immediately.

Well, there are some extremely excellent programs but unfortunately, they aren't free. but I strongly recomend you to use them. They need activation codes to work. Perhaps if there is no other way try getting an illegal license key.
An excellent program for (spyware, spybot, adware, browser hijackers, ....etc):
Spyware Doctor. You can download it from: http://www.pctools.com
An Excellent anti virus:
Kaspersky antivirus. You can download it from:
http://www.kasperskylabs.com

The first thing you have to do is google AVG Free antivirus program and download their latest version 7.5. Run this program to clean your computer..... It's probably the best on the market and it is FREE. Good Luck.

It's NOT spyware...It's adware...Try going to www.download.com and install a pop-up blocker and anti-virus software program. Or better yet, buy Norton or McAfee software at your local dept. store.
