I think that Arenas is a piece of crap, he should thank coach K for not selecting him, cause he might have hurt his groin in the olympics and he wont be scoring all those points this year. As far as scoring 84 or 85 points, whatever man, you would have no chance

Gilbert Arenas said "I wish I could go back to college...just to play Duke......and score 84 or 85 points."

He is mad at Coach 'K' for having been cut from the Olympic squad.

Several articles I have read point out that Arenas loves to psych himself up by 'getting mad & getting even'.....I'd say this season & his All Star selection prove he's good at self motivation.

As far as Duke basketball is concerned...I am a big fan.....for reasons other than the world famous rivalry with UNC.

1) Duke University has a world class medical school....and 16 years ago they helped save a close friend's 5 year old daughter...who's brain tumor could easily have ended her life. (She's a healthy 21 year old Mom now).

2) Duke plays great team basketball. Year after year Coach K takes great players.....and turns them into great TEAMS. Even this season....when there are 4 teams that are clearly better than everyone else (Florida,UNC,Wisconsin & UCLA)...and Duke is young and inexperienced.....the team is improving and has a tenacious defense. There aren't many schools that can combine
'rebuilding' and 'Sweet 16'.

3) And then there is Duke's 'other' basketball team. The Duke women have followed in the footsteps of the men. Duke is currently undefeated and #1. This in a conference that includes undefeated #2 UNC & # 3 Maryland. And 'just across the mountains'...(well @250 miles) from the best coach in America. Pat Summitt & Tennessee would be a tough 'regional rival' for any men's team.

Gilbert Arenas is a great player.

Fans who 'hate Duke' because of hoops rivalries help make College Basketball the best sport on earth.

However......if Arenas & other Blue Devil detractors don't recognize a world class school & world class teams and world class coaching....they just don't get it.

GO DUKE ! (And GO!.... your school, too.)

With all do respect to all Gilbert Arenas fans. He's an all-star, I'll give you that. But why he always complained to the media about which thing is fair or not? Some players can only dream to be an all-star like him. heck, some players could even only dream to step on the NBA court and to be an NBA player.

I mean it's great to think that sky is the limit, but I think you should always be grateful to God for the things you had achieved.

Sports needs colorful characters. "Hibachi" is just doing what street ballers have done since hoops creeped out of the Y. It is all for fun. I would be more concerned if he went a step further, which he did not, and say Team USA lost because he was not on the squad. That would be disrespectful to his peers, and then he would be a complete jerk. The world has become way too serious. Lighten up, folks.

I'm a fan of Gilbert but he is becoming extremely annoying with his whining and moaning about not being picked for the team. If Coach K. wanted him on the team, then Coach K. would have chosen him. Coach K. picked who he felt would be best and at that time Gilbert was not one of the players.

Look at all of the players who did not get picked to be on the team and you don't see them crying about it every time. Gilbert is very talented but it wasn't his time.

He needs to move on cause he's starting to act like T.O. about it.

People who think Arenas sucks have no idea what talent is. He is one of the top five talents in the NBA. Does any "reasonable" Duke fan think that Greg Paulus could defend him? Please... I don't know if he would get 85, but it would be pretty close. No college player could even begin to shut him down, and Paulus can't even defend decent college guards! Duke will not be a title contender again until they replace him at the point.

He needs to get over the fact that he didn't make the team, and use it as motivation for the next Olympics. He also needs to shut his mouth about dropping so many points against the Suns and Blazers.

I know he had that big game against the Suns last month, but last week they taught him and the Wizards a lesson - a game is won with your play, not with your mouth.

i think gilbert arenas is one hell of a player. really the stand-out player this year and should deservedly be in the MVP race.

but he needs to shut up. he's starting to become the TO of the NBA. big talent, big mouth, big ego, and wants to show up all those who went against him.

Oh he's just a basketball player speaking his mind and entertaining people. Its just basketball, which is a sport and form of entertainment. He didn't say he would dunk on the Pope's head and sh*t on Mother Teresa's grave, he said he would dominate Duke's Men Basketball team, which he would and that's all.
