A healthy human prostate is slightly larger than a walnut. It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder and can be felt during a rectal exam.

The ducts are lined with transitional epithelium.

Within the prostate, the urethra coming from the bladder is called the prostatic urethra and merges with the two ejaculatory ducts. (The male urethra has two functions: to carry urine from the bladder during urination and to carry semen during ejaculation.)

The prostate can be divided in two different ways: by zone, or by lobe.
The main function of the prostate is to store and secrete a clear, slightly basic fluid that constitutes up to one-third of the volume of semen. Semen is composed of sperm and seminal fluid; about 10-30% of the seminal fluid is produced by the prostate gland, the rest is produced by the two seminal vesicles.

The prostate also contains some smooth muscle that helps to expel semen during ejaculation.

The prostate is a male gland that is responsible for producing the liquid medium for your sperm to travel in. When it is underused, the gland can easily enlarge or form tumors, and that is when the trouble starts. Many doctors have reported recently that frequent ejaculations can prevent prostate problems. Intercourse or masturbation can help you to achieve more frequent ejaculations.

It is the gland where seminal fluid is produced. It mixes with sperm on ejaculation. It is where gating of urine or ejaculate is done.

The urethra goes through it, so when it enlarges, as in prostate hypertrophy or prostate cancer, urination is more difficult.

It has nothing to do with getting an erection.

Many men like it being massaged sexually and it's one of the reasons some Gay men enjoy receptive anal sex.

Erectile Dysfunction can be devastating to men, and unfortunately, millions of men suffer from the condition. Learn how to cure erectile dysfunction https://tr.im/UNEzd

If you go to the doctor to talk about the issue, you’re likely to get put on one or more of the popular medications used to treat the condition. While they can be effective (temporarily), these medications come with a raft of side effects, some of which are decidedly unpleasant. Even worse, these medications aren’t really a cure, they’re more like a temporary workaround.

Worst of all, they tend to be really expensive. Month after month, you’re having to pay to work around your condition. That’s what the Big Pharmaceutical companies want.
