Some questions do seem rather dumb - other are just illiterate. I fear that your is in the second category, if not the first.
(1) You should phrase the question as follows: "Are the people who ask questions here really dumb?"
(2) In the second part of your question you have phrased it so that it reads as if you think it is the questions, rather than the questioners, which don't have a brain!

Don't confuse differing opinions with stupidity.
Intelligence is really only an issue when considering cognitively demanding concepts such as:
Deriving the rate equations of several mixed order, temperature and pressure dependant reactions using a selective catalysed membrance reactor to obtain a solution to multiple partial differential equations.
Can you do that? No? God you must be so dumb.

Some people are pouring their feelings into their questions and no matter how they're worded or what they're about, they are important to them and that's all that matters. We are here to give encouragement to those that are afraid to ask "Dumb Questions". There are no dumb questions. Didn't you learn that in grade school or did you drop out?

I think there are some who see this as an opportunity to find the answers to all of the questions they ever pondered over.
But I think that if you carry on answering questions to the best of your ability and asking relevant questions to today's society, then you won't need to worry about those people!

i think it is a lot like bird hunting. you are hiding in the reeds, some birds come by and you take a couple of shots and with some luck you get one. sometimes you get nothing. sometimes, like vp cheny, you get your buddy. anyway, sometimes i get a very interesting anwer and sometimes i see very intriguing questions. sorry, your's had the word dumb so often i had to comment.
