My husband was sentenced 2-7 years for a check forgery charge. That means he will have to serve 2 years in prison. After the 2 years are up may be eligible to get out on parole. He would then be on Parole for 5 years. The remaining of his sentence he will be on parole and follow the rules. If any of the rules are broken, then he serves the remaining time he has left of his sentencing, in prison.

Probation is different from parole. Each state has different guidelines. I would encourage you to speak with a lawyer to get a clear cut answer on your specific situation.
