Depends on how big you want your shawl. Depends on your size. If you are a size 6 it would require less if you were a size 18.

i am pretty sure it is 4-5 scanes, my mom makes healing shawls for people in the hospital...they love them and they are comforting....depends on the size you want but I am pretty sure that is how much she uses...they are pretty big..
