There is quite a few out there to try, but none of them are totally true. The site will be set for real people but as with everything else in life there is good people and bad people on all of them.
You can try for e.g Persons.com or lycos chat which you get to via yahoo homepage. there is many others but that is 2 i know myself.

Go to interest based sites which have forums. Paricipate and become a contributing member of the community. You will develop relationships over time. I have participated at poetry writing and critique forums and addiction based forums and religious forums and have developed online friends from these places.
