Going to the BMW garage to get mr car serviced. Got two hours to kill on a blinking trading estate. What cars do ya reckon I should test drive? I'm 22 so insurance might be a problem on some.

Milk float - would love to drive one of those. Somehow I don't think I'd find a garage though.

Stella - what is your problem? I think you have an attitude problem. I wanna try a couple cars out - if I like them then can I can consider buying them. Two years ago I knew loads about the cars on the market. However, now I don't know which cars are worth trying out, hence my question.

Well one things for sure... the responses from the salespeople here shows what arrogant wankers they are.

I think they miss the point. Whats not to say the person taking the test drive will take a liking to the car... prehaps not buying it immediately but they might go home and have a good think about it.

Besides, don't you get paid a basic wage even if you do not sell a single car?

Anyway see if you can get a test drive in something nice like an rx8 or mid range merc

As a car dealer and former new car salesperson, it sure is annoying when people take their car into service and just start driving cars at the dealership to waste their time away. You have to realize that the salesperson is not making any money unless he sells something. You may actually be taking him away from a paying person. If all your idea is to entertain yourself for a couple hours, think about the people that waste your time at your job and how you feel. It's hard enough to make a living out there without having to deal with people with ill intentions.

Tire kicking timewasters are the bain of car traders life. Thankfully most of us can spot them a mile off so generally just go and do some paperwork or suchlike and leave you kicking your heels till you get bored and go away.

Look at cars by all means, but I haven't got time to mess round on test drives for someone who has no intention of buying.
