plug and play is not always a usb connection. pretty much anything you plug into your computer will be automatically detected. you shouldn't need anything else for your flat monitor. it will have a monitor cable just like your old one. if your computer is older, you might want to look into a better graphics card so everything looks awesome on your new monitor, but thats not a have to thing. thats just something personal i would do if i had the money. good luck!

You won't need to upgrade anything on your computer.

Just be aware - there are 2 types of connection - VGA or DVI.

Most computers have VGA outputs (analogue) some have DVI (digital), some have both. Check that the monitor you buy has the same kind of connection as your computer.

A VGA connector is D shape with round pins. A DVI connector has flat pins.

I have just bought one my self yesterday, 19" no problem. The only thing I find is, it seems huge I can actually see a full page on the screen.Just check that it comes with the essential leads, there is nothing worse than getting it home and you need to go out and get a lead. Have fun.
