If you're going out in the daytime a nice skirt & blouse, plus a pair of heels & wear your sexiest lingerie too. Dress-up completely as a woman from head to toe & enjoy yourself in the public eye. And for an evening out you should wear your little black dress & 5" black pumps & dance the night away.

Presumably you want to look feminine?
Are you tall or short?
What kind of body do you have? Short or long?
Once shaved most men's legs are quite attractive.
If you have nice ankles you might want to draw attention to them.
On the other hand your butt will be too small, so perhaps you don't want to draw attention to that, or you can wear a style that makes your butt look bigger.
You want to think about colours and the image you want to project: tarty, conservative, businesswoman or party girl, church lady or shop assistant ....
There's really only one good way of finding out and that's to start trying clothes on.
Apart from the dress, you are going to need to accessorize, find a suitable shoe, conceal your beard, wear a light make up, get your eyebrows under control, pluck your nose hair, remove any hair on your hands, get deo, find a suitable perfume (nothing too pronounced), and do something about your hair, (styled if you are lucky enough to have long hair or find yourself a wig).
You will also need to learn to walk, control your hand gestures, learn to speak without using all the force your male voice gives you, keep your knees together when you sit, do things without being asked to, etc. etc.

Good luck

A man can wear a dress or a skirt in public...

The only thing stopping him is fear of other peoples reactions.

The law only objects to indecent exposure and nudity...

A kilt? With a cute cardigan and a white blouse, like a school girl. Hit me baby one more time.

Guess it depends on the guy.

The only two I'd wear would be a kilt or a hakama, but other's are different, so more power to them.

A man can and it should be one that is comfortable and doesn't expose anything.

I've worn a Kilt - but that's not crossdressing.

A classy one. None of that transvestite whore look. Perhaps black leggings, a denim skirt and a sweater?
