I did mine based on a program's relative success, the coach, not necessarily by who's hot today. This isn't an all time best program, but to me which programs are the best today along with success and reputation. Men 1. Duke (great coach, history, tradition) 2. North Carolina (same as Duke) 3. Connecticut (great coach, NBA player development - more NBA players right now are from UConn than any other college) 4. UCLA (Tradition, History, Wooden's 10 titles, Recent Success) 5. Kentucky (Tradition, History) 6. Kansas (Great coach, tradition, history, success) 7. Indiana (Great Coach who recently came in, history, tradition) 8. Michigan State (Great coach, tradition, success) 9. Georgetown (Great coach, tradition, success) 10. Arizona (tradition, success, NBA player development) Women 1. Tennessee (best coach in their game's history, tradition, success) 2. Connecticut (great coach, tradition, success, WNBA player development - more WNBA players right now are from UConn than any other college. Thus the Huskies have more NBA and WNBA players in each league than any other school.) 3. Stanford (great coach, tradition, success) 4. North Carolina (great coach, tradition, success) 5. Rutgers (great coach, recent success) 6. Duke (tradition, success, up and coming coach) 7. Texas (great coach, past success) 8. Louisiana State (great coach, tradition, success) 9. Maryland (great coach, recent success) 10. Ohio State (great coach, tradition, success)
