Yes, there are a couple of ways.

1) there could be a camera set up whee you are watching you.

2) There is software that allows a person to see exactly what you are doing or seing while in front of a computer.

3) Thereis another kind of software that takes snap shots of your screen. Then these snapshots are analysed at a later date.

4) You browser keep tracks of al the sites you go to. This is especially true for iternet explorer. Internet explorer saves some info not only on cookies or in the history folder but also there is a hidden file in your hard drive. Google "index.dat files" You will be surprised what you find. Thats one more reason to switch to firefox or other web browser.

5) When you erase a file what you are doing is erasing the pointer to the fle. The file just don't disapear. With the right tools someone can find files that whee erased years ago. The catch is that they may be corrupted or they might be over written by other files. However, you don't control that. There are a couple of programs that do a complete erase of a file to some government standrd. I haven't used them so I can't tell you how good they are.

6) The servers that you connect to also keep track of where you have been. Especially your service provider. The length that they keep this information varies from time to time. I think in some places up to two month. That is unless the government ask them to keep it. As in if the police is investigating you.

You do not need to worry unless you are doing one or a combnation of the followings.

1) Child porn.
2) besteality or some other ilegal activity.
3) Using your computer as part of an ilegal act.
4) If you are using your work computer.

If you are using your own computer at home and you are not doing any of the 4 things I mention above you do not have anything to worry about. it takes money and other resourses to spy on you. Also, the person spying have to justify why they are doing so. Well, I dont know how that works now under the patriot act but generally they need good cause unless is your wife or parents. Even then spying on some one is ilegal.

Most definitely. And of course there are two instances - live and after the fact. There are people out there who make it there business to hack into other people's PCs. As for after the fact. Every page you visit is stored in your "history" and/or as cookies in your temporary Internet folder. Both of these can be cleared out after use by going to "Tools", "Internet Options", and choosing to clear cookies, history and temporary stored files. As for the live thing, the chances of someone targeting you might be unlikely depending on the use of your system.

cheers

You bet they can. The internet infrastructure (backbone) whether DSL or cable is connected by a series or routers and servers. Whatever you send over the low side or unsecure servers can be intercepted. Https servers (secure) scrambles the transmission and makes it more secure. The only system that cannot be hacked or intercepted is a stand alone system--closed to all outside traffic.

If the have the appropriate tools, yes .. of course it is possible....even from another PC across the world.

It's much easier if they have physical access to your PC. Then all they need to do is look at the contents of your "Temporary Internet Folder".

This is why it is wise to frequently erase all history & temp files related to your browser.

Yes, it is called spywere, people seam to think u need it and you don't want it that is how people caln track where you have been, if someone hacks into your stuff it is because they have been watching you, if you have a wireless conection and it is not secured abyone around you(neighbors) can get on your connection and see eveything you are doing, so put a password on that, and don't save it!

if you are at work then yes and people (bosses) probobly monitor what you are doing.

Hope that helped!

IT IS possible. Whenever you go online, you hold no privacy.Thats what viruses and bugs do. They transfer all your data to remote computer.
Whatever you browse on internet all your history is saved on temporary internet files and History folder. So any person can view your History unless you have proper protection against it. If you don;t want to goto TOOLS>INTERNET OPTION..clean history and delete intenet. temp files everytime you leave your computer.

do you mean live or after the fact?....do you mean at home or at work?....are you on a network or are you on a personal connection?

if you're asking about after you get off your home PC then yes....people can look through the temporary internet files and see where you've been.......download and run CCleaner.....problem solved

if you're at work or on a network then yes they can see what you're doing in real time.....i don't know of any way around that
