I feel that you shouldnt tell her everything about it all at once, but be on an open level of communication with her at all times. My mom told me about everything in little doses. I knew at a young age about women having babys, but i wasnt sure how till i was old enough to know. But i knew before they told us in school (which is like 5th grade) b/c she would tell me when she bought pads and stuff that older women would have these difficult times of the month. I quess I dont remember exactly what she used to tell me but she was always willing to answer any questions i had and explain things to me. She didnt tell me it to scare me so much but to explain that these things happen. I think the way she told me things helped me to see things from an older perspective than I normally would have. It helped me to not fall into bad things, like not having sex to early. I just suggest being truthfull and talking to her young a bit about it that way it doesnt have to all be heaped on her at one time.

It depends if she is starting to develop or not. I would the average age is 9 or 10 but it does depend. My daughter has had friends that started their periods at 10.

I would give the talk around 9 or 10 regardless, but if you have reason to believe that your daughter could get her period earlier (like you got your period earlier than that, or she is showing signs of early puberty) then talk to her about it earlier. There's nothing that should be embarrassing about the talk, so don't feel like 8 or 9 is too young.

Age 2-3 when they start asking questions about their body and other peoples body.

If you discuss how the body works starting at age three kids will actually hear you. If you wait until the start of puberty they will be too embarrassed. Now that doesn't mean you have to do all sex ed right then and there. But that is the time to start, when explaining the difference between mommies and daddies you can say that mommies bleed every month when they aren't having a baby.

Girls start maturing earlier these days......she will probably hear about it in school around age 8 or 9. So, I would say 9 is a good age.

I'd say at least 9 or 10, no later. I started at 11, and I've heard of girls as young as 8.
