NO!! I hate it when people use the word gay, as if it were a disease. Be comfortable with who u are, your no different than anyone else, im sure you feel love, hate, depression, and any other feeling the human race has, so what you like the same sex, if someone does like it ignore them, their below you anyway. My best friends sister liked women, she killed herself, because she felt like the world wouldnt except her, because of people always judging what is right or wrong. Being gay doesnt hurt anybody, their not paying your bills, cleaning your house, or any other, daily task you do, it just makes them feel better to mistreat you.

I am straight and I have several gay friends so no it is not wrong to be friends with a gay person, in fact I have found that they are some of the best and most wonderful friends that a person could every hope to have.
Also ignore that article as it was obviously written by a closeminded, so-called "christian" BIGOT! They don't know what they are talking about and that is sad.

I cant even believe someone wasted the time to write and article on it. I dont care what it says Gay people are still people, people with cancer are still people, heck Hitler is still a person and Im sure he had friends at some time! and theres nothing bad about a gay so y would someone freak about it? there is nothing wrong with being gay or being friends with a gay person. people are so shallow sometimes!! some of my best friends are gay, and I hate to discriminate like that but they are the bettter of my friends, they say and do what they want without being afraid of someone telling them they are wrong or diiffernt. You really shouldnt worry about that crap, if your a good person than people will be your friends.

Nearly all of our friends are straight, and male -- and contrary to what one of your answerers said, I know VERY few straight men that are at all "uncomfortable" with gay males -- maybe that's because I'm in an urban environment in the northeastern United States where everyone actually DOES know OUT gay men -- but maybe its just because the whole "oh, gays make straights nervous" rhetoric is overblown and largely forwarded by the most prejudiced fringe of the population -- which the answerer makes evident is his personal position via his notation that being friends with gays is ok but being gay is wrong.

I am also gay, Ive been with my partner 11 years. We dont know any other gay men, all our friends, men and women are straight. We have never even thought about it being a problem. We drink in our local pubs and although everyone knows we are gay We are treated no different to anyone else.Sorry I dont have time to read this article, but if it says anything different dont read this rubbish yourself. Just be yourself and dont worry about anyone else.

that other person is narrow minded. I'm straight female and I've had gay male friends. They are the most positive people I've been around. They have a spice for life, they make me laugh, etc. When I say they make me laugh, I mean they have a sense of humor. They love fashion and they have good tastes.
I'm not saying that all gays behave like this, only those people I've had experiences with.
The world is too judgemental. I judge on character. I don't judge on sexual preferences.

I had a girl who people thought was gay and we were both on the softball team so of course we were somewhat close. So in this class of all girls no one liked her because of they thought she was gay. Well I was good and math she wasnt and she would come to me for help almost everyday and people started telling me to stop talking to her before she fell in love with me and how they wouldnt be my friend anymore if I were to continue to talk to her. I felt really frustrated because all I wanted to do was help the girl not date her. So I told my mom the situation and she said it best she said if you are content with who you are it does not matter what anyone else have to say and if they stop being your friend because of something as superficial as that they werent your real friends to begin with. So I kept talking to her and eventually people embraced the fact that I'm not gay but I not going to stop helping someone to prove to you that I am not.

I don't think so. I am a Christian, and I believe that we are called to love everyone. I personally believe that homosexuality is unnatural, and that it ends up doing much more harm than good to homosexuals.
But that's not to say that I'm any bit better than them. There are lots of things I am and I do that I'd be better off not being and doing. But if someone smokes, and you believe smoking will hurt them, wouldn't you try to convince your friend to stop smoking, and do it out of love and concern?

Here's the thing that gay-bashers don't get, who the hell makes the choice to be ridiculed and harassed by people? Gay people ( and it is a proven fact) are BORN that way. Could be an extra Gene ( i.e xxy, xyy) or something during incubation, but none the less people are people. Judge by who people are NOT what they are. Hell realistically, gays are judged by what people think they do in the bedroom; you'd be surprised what STRAIGHT people do in their bedroom.

Its alright hun these people think they are full of love for their fellow man but they are slightly miguided. Why would you want a friend that felt like this about you anyway.
I'm quite happy for them to stay on their side of the social divide if they will leave me on mine (Bi by the way - some Gay people see us as 'unclean')
