Disagree. Kids can get ideas from all sorts of things, music, television, movies etc. But it's one's upbringing that teaches them right from wrong. School shootings being a problem is strictly a consequence of some absent parenting.

I disagree about the music. Parents need to take a more active role in the children's lives. If they don't know what is going on they need tofind out. I don't understand how the parents of the Columbine shootings could not see what was going on in their garage. I am not placing blame on them but still. Also kids are bullied today and I don't think bullying is right but every child is bullied at one time or another. I had to learn to deal with it growing up just like a lot of other kids. That is only my opinion.

I don't think the music is to blame. It goes a lot deeper. The parents aren't spending enough time, or the discipline is too harsh, (or not enough discipline). Also peer pressure and not just getting them to do something, but teasing whether it be for social cliques, color, sex, or just bullying in general. I know I picked on some kids for being different, and I feel bad about it, and as much as we teased them I'm surprised they didn't "act out"

I think those guys were pre-disposed to do harm. The music may of played a very small role but the act itself is all laid at their feet, the parents may have just been glad that the kid was out of the house. I have no idea what causes one to do something so terrible but it had to be seen way before this.

The Parents are the reason, if they would take and interest in what there kids are doing, Parents need to look into the personal stuff computer etc, if it saves lives who cares what they think, they will get over it...

i disagree to a point
i think if parents got more involved with thier kids we would not have problems like this
and most of these kids need a good swift slap
i grew up with the fear of god instilled on me i was slapped strapped and i grew up fine i am not a killer or mugger
if more parents took responsibilty for the kids they bring into this world we would have awesome kids

I disagree. I listen to and enjoy all that music, and I did all through my teenage years. And I'm still a nice friendly person. It's had no bad effects on me whatsoever. :-)

They always have to try and blame it on something....If it's the music, why don't people listen to Barry Manilow and go build a park somewhere!!!
