...for providing chocolate mixed with cannabis for what they claimed was for medicinal use. Do you agree with the Jury's decision to convict them? Should our Government legalise the use of cannabis for those with Multiple Sclerosis?

Good question.
This should never have got to court and yes Cannabis should be legalised for specific groups.

Suspended sentence is miss understood often. Yes under those circumstances the defendant did not serve any time in jail. But they have been sentenced to 12 months in jail. This doesn't matter until they try to get security clearances or other certain types of background checks done. They have been convicted and sentenced to 12 months in jail. Which when you actually read that is interesting. It also varies somewhat by country. There also would not be bail at least in the US it would be "The defendant was ordered to pay fines in the amount of $1000

The only problem I see with legalization is one of the ones that was already mentioned: how do we tell that someone is too impaired to drive?

With alcohol, we can use a breathalyser to determine blood alcohol content, and there are legal standards to determine ability to drive a motor vehicle. Unless and until the same thing is done for cannabis, we are going to be hard pressed to get legalization.

Medical marijuana is almost a no-brainer. It is abundantly clear that it helps certain diseases like MS or certain cancers or glaucoma where modern medicines are ineffective or have dangerous side effects. For me, I don't need it (yet); my MS can still be controlled by legal drugs. But if it came down to it and medical marijuana would help, I would definitely use it, legal or not.

This is a difficult one. There is no scientific evidence showing that its use is beneficial, but there seems to be quite a lot of unsubstantiated evidence that it is.
Obviously I would never want to deny someone the medicine that would make them able to cope with their condition.
Personally I would feel more comfortable if scientists were able to discover what it is in the drug that MIGHT be helping MS sufferer's and design new treatments based on this.

I have a feeling that this is being used by Cannabis bores to try to legitimise the use of this noxious and dangerous hallucinogenic. I am definatly against that.

Yes. And then they should legalise the use of cannabis for everyone else too and start spending their time and our money on something useful.

They should have got life, the stuff messes up your mental health, I work in mental health we get loads of young people who's life is now well and truly screwed due to cannabis use. Mixing it with chocolate don't make it ant less harmful. They are just drug dealers

if it helps the people with MS, then yes - the patients should be provided with the treatment in controlled environments.

should it be legalized for other reasons, no .. i dont see why. we already have enough deaths caused by drunks!! now we will have people who are high to add the crazy enough drivers on the road.

give me a break!!
