Government assisted Maternity Leave and Daycare?

I'm interested in knowing people's opinions on government assisted paid maternity leaves and financial assistance for day care. It seems that Universal Healthcare is an evil proposal suggested to move America toward socialism, so I wondered how Republicans felt about these other two social programs...

they're called "fringe" benefits. most corporations offer these or similar benefits to their employees. the children that died in the OKC bombing were in a federal daycare center. what is your q? compare fringe benefits that your employer offers to universal healthcare? why? 2 different issues. don't like what your boss offers? get another job.
