Why did Dick Cheney get so upset at Wolf Blitzer? Wolf asked about Dick’s daughter, who is an activist conservative, and the fact that she and her lesbian partner are having a baby together. This violates the tenants of conservatism i.e. children should have a mother and father (not just a sperm donor) to be brought up by. Several conservatives have voiced their disapproval of this 'life style choice'. His daughter has been public about her political life and campaigned for her father, so why would Cheney get so upset? Why can't he voice an opinion about his daughters’ violation of conservative principles?

Cheney is the political figure here. He should be under scrutiny--not his daughter. His FAMILY life is PRIVATE and has nothing to do with his duties as VP. Why would someone ask such a question except to get a 'reaction'? Many parents have children who behave in a way other than what is their parents ideal. He is a father who still loves and wants to protect his daughter--as would any loving father.

Apparently, it is more important to tow the party line than to show support for your daughter. Cheney has, in not so many words, stated that he does not support the conservative agenda against homosexuals.

Dick was just being Dick, while hes a neo con, and I really think he lost his common sense in the field of politics, he's still a father, and he will always defend his children in public. Any father will.
