I have to compare and contrast the 17th century version of the Cinderella tale with Roald Dahl’s 20th century re-writing of the tale, focussing on how the character of Cinderella has been changed. What are the implications of the changes?

I just wanted to add a comment about Cinderella and her "glass" slipper. Even as a kid I wondered about the practicality of wearing glass on your foot. I recently found an explanation of this bit of the story and I will share it with you. The story, when translated from French into English, was the cause of the glass slipper. She actually was described as wearing (in the French story) a slipper made of "vair", or squirrel fur. The French word for glass is "verre", sounds a lot like "vair", so when some English twit heard the story he thought she was wearing glass.
Now I'm going on memory here, don't have my reference source, so if I'm wrong forgive me and send me a correction.

It must be changed because homosexuals say that there should be a "gay" cinderella so that no one is left out in the fairy tale world.
