I don't know what other people do, but I have really bad anxiety and freak out when I don't know what's happening, so my eyes stay open and my dentist even gives me a little mirror to hold so I can see what he is doing.......It takes a little longer while I'm in the chair, but I'm never there for long.... They knock me out if they have to do any work..... That suits me....

I don't close my eyes at the dentist because they have a tv that I can watch.

i'm a dental hygiene student, actual we aren't in many situations focused on your eyes, in user-friendly terms that's kinda creepy while somebody is basically extensive-eyed watching you in case you're attempting to bathe their tooth. i could advise keeping your eyes closed so no longer something gets in them, or a minimum of watching something else different than without postpone into the eyes of the guy working on your mouth--CREEPY!

I think being at the dentist is relaxing..I know, I'm weird! Also, it would be awkward staring at the dentist and his assistant, wouldn't it?

When being filled and drilled, shutting the eyes helps intensify the sensation.
