The vector tells where the origin (0,0) would go if it were translated. It goes right 6 units, and down 3 units.
Point A does the same thing...Over 6, down 3.
The horizontal component (x) is at -5 now and it goes right 6...-5+6 = 1.
The vertical component (y) is at 1 now and it goes down 3...1 - 3 = -2. Translated location, (1,-2)

draw the point (-5, 1) on a graph
the vector tells you which way to move the point.
the top number means move it left or right
the bottom number means move it up or down

the 6 is positive so move the point 6 place to the right (giving the point ( 1,1)

the -3 is negative so move it down 3 places (giving the point (1, -2)

The easy way of doing it without the graph is add the top number on to the x coordinate and the bottom number onto the y axis

= -5 + 6 = 1
= 1 + - 3 = -2 (point is 1, -2 )

The cordinates of the translated point would be
x=-5+6 =-1 y= 1+(-3) = -2 The point is (-1,-2)
