do you think it's ok to kill a cow because it has no personality?

and i quote:
"And they think killing animals is wrong, when most cows I've met have a pretty bland personality"

that comment really bothered me. i've met humans with less personality than a dandruff flake. does that make it alright to kill them because they're uninteresting to you?

do you really think someone with more personality has a more valuable life?

murder is murder. there's nothing else to it.

that's lame. vegetables don't have a nervous system therefore they do not feel pain.
if you're going to compare this to an unborn foetus who also has not developed a nervous system... it's not the same. the foetus will eventually become a human where a vegetable will not develop any feelings. it's just premature murder.

gretz: who gave you the authority to decide that the single purpose of a cows life is to die for your satisfaction? that's just plain selfish. every life has value. if you fail to see it it does not justify murdering them.
humans have NOT evolved into omnivores. take a look around you. there are more vegetarian options around everywhere you look. why's that? because it's perfectly fine to live a healthy happy life without meat.not only has it been scientifically proven, but it's obvious. there are so many nutritional benefits with eating vegetarian. eating meat is a choice. i'm not preaching my beliefs on you, eat meat if you want. i'm just argueing over the lame bullsh*t people come up with to justify killing an animal

haha ok i'm going to assume you're joking now.
i don't eat eggs, and i don't have any dairy products either. this is my choice and in doing so, i do not expect to 'stomp out' meat eaters. as i said before i am not preaching. i have made my choices purely because i don't support it and i want to help out as much as i can. it would make me rather hypocritical if i believed in animal rights as strongly as i do and continued consuming animal products.
it's true you know. cows do serve more of a purpose than being murdered for food. like animal testing and other brutal experiments. just like you and i, animals should be granted the freedom they once owned. we're free to do what we please. most animals, particulary farm animals, are suffering for no good reason all in the name of science or the food industry. that's what i have a problem with.
i think you should check out this video and perhaps you'll have a better understand of where i'm coming from

*EDIT* Cow's serve more of a purpose than just killing them and eating them. They are being used for many great things. I just watched an episode of dirty jobs where a farmer was using cow farts to heat his house. I didn't decide jack crap as to their purpose, they have many purposes, one being making some beef patties. If cannibalism wasn't taboo in most countries, people would also be eating people, it happens in more primitive places. Part of a modern society has led us away from that however and given people like you the options to live free from meat. I suppose you don't drink anything but soy milk too then? Do you eat eggs? what about cheese? get real girlie, you'll never stomp out meat eaters, and seriously go ask a dentist what our teeth are designed to do, I guarantee it's more than munching on some leaves.

Murder is murder? that's a pretty obvious statement. but what you fail to realize is that the ending of an animals life, like a cow's for example, is not "murder" It serves a purpose just like everyone, human or not human does. It goes back to evolution, and darwin's survival of the fittest, etc.. Humans have evolved into omnivores, we eat and digest both meat and vegetation. To say that someone murdered a cow is ridiculous, that cow serves a purpose and was killed and every possibly way it was used to better society. someone getting a "cap in the ***" and dying, that serves no purpose and is just violence. There's a complete difference. Now if someone decided to take a riffle and use a neighbors cow field as target practice, that's cruel and shouldn't be accepted.

well according to the way I understand this " murder is murder. there's nothing else to it. " theory one should not kill an animal for this is taking a life. what about the Vegetarian who pulls a radish, carrot, turnip, or any other editable food from the ground or off a
tree ? these vegetables are also living so the Vegetarian also
" murders. " just depends upon the way one looks at the situation.

Oh, yeah. Cows are put to great use by killing them to make freakin' burgers!?!? No nutritional value and alot of heart disease!!!! And as for the omnivore bullcrap we do not digest anything from a cow considering burgers or worthless and steaks are undigetable unless they are burned to the point that they are also worthless nutritiously.

well we herd animals keep them in pens like slaves and we kill them... however
we grow vegetables to kill them and the trees or plants that they grow can feel the sun they grow into and some even grow above others to get at the sunlight ( they are called an emergent) which in turn robs there neighbouring trees of sun light and kills them so in a sense they feel sunlight. don't forget sap is akin to blood which does happen to run when you pick their fruits
so unless you wait for the fruit to drop or the animal to die it's still cruel to eat anything if you want to look at that way but would the trees or animals be more cruel if we decide not to eat them
so as the tall trees do (eat the sunlight or die in the shade) or as all carnivores say eat or be eaten

Killing a cow is not murder. Are you a Christian? It says in your Bible that God gave us all animals for our use.

If you think that meat is murder, then you most certainly must believe that no woman anywhere should be allowed to have an abortion.
