First of all, I can make my own money.
But to answer your question, I'd say a 3. The amount of a man's money is not as important as how responsible he is with it; and whether or not his financial priorities are compatible with a woman's financial priorities.

Income is very important to women from my experience. Although a man can do a lot better by being funny, confident, energetic and slightly arrogant.
I don't think there's anything wrong with women being attracted to rich men, it's genetic, they want a strong provider.
Just like men go for looks because they want a healthy, fertile mother for their kids.
btw, men do not find wealth in females sexually attractive in any way, just to clear up some confusion. Men are simple creatures really, the most important things are:
1. Looks
2. Personality
That's all there is to it frankly.

I can only speak for myself. Money is DAMN IMPORTANT... especially when the bills come in the mail and are begging to be paid. I enjoy electricity so I pay my electric bill... I enjoy a few other things as well and money enables me to have them.
I don't rate a mans income. Men's income is none of my business nor my concern.

Hmmm....Let's see. If you are good-looking, intelligent, sensitive and friendly, and make enough money to pay your bills without getting into a debt -- to most women, you're a loser. If you look average, are a straight-D student (maybe with some F's thrown in for variety), totally insensitive, have no real friends at all, and have $10 million in the bank -- there will be a line of women at your door, 24/7.

There are two questions here. The first one is how important money to a woman? Then, there is a different, but not unrelated question, seeking our judgement in rating man's income from1 to 5.
For the first question, I would say that money is very important to a woman, because its money, in this world of ours, which can really make a woman feel truly independant. Its a sad reality! Its from money that a woman can educate truley herself, and she DOES need education to libarate herself from this wretched world of ours.
As far as rating man's income, I would rate it 3!

A man's income is about a 3.5 for me. He can't be like debt poor but he doesn't have to be playboy rich just enough to pay the bills. As for me money is important i need to know that i can earn more than enough to cover my *** and have some left over.

4. It is obviously very important as it reflects the mans ability to be responsible and effective in life. However, it is not the most important thing. Money and no brains or charisma is very unattractive.

I can work to earn money all by myself, but the material situation is very important in a relationship....Once the hunger knocks at the door, the love jumps out the window....

It is good if a man can earn money but as a career woman and with a lot of potential to earn, I would not look for a man to bring me wealth. I intend to make it myself and enjoy being financially independant. However it's good if it's not all down to me as well. It's certainly not the main factor, as when I married my husband he didn't have very much and wasn't earning but that didn't matter to me and I knew he would in the near future and now he is.
